Of Silences and Sealing Wax

I’d like to apologize for the long silence here at vestige.org; it has been a long, strange summer. I have not stopped reading (slowed, though), and unfortunately the silence may continue for some few days longer. Rest assured that I will return with book reviews and commentary (I already have the whole Salterton Trilogy and half the Deptford Trilogy to write about!). In the meantime, might I suggest a visit to The Literary Type, an excellent new blog operated by the fine folks at The New Quarterly.

  1. Hello August,
It was a pleasure to meet you at WOTS this weekend. My apologies if my grooming you made you uncomfortable… I try to convince myself that my violation of social codes is charming, but that’s probably why I have no friends. Also, you were very dusty!

  2. Hi!
It was good to meet you too. I wasn’t really uncomfortable about the grooming, I just didn’t know what was happening. 🙂
Normally something like that only happens when I wear my burgundy velvet smoking jacket (no, really).
I was no doubt very dusty, though. A basement apartment with no carpets and lots of books and electronics and a cat attracts dust like… well, like something that attracts a lot of dust.
