Idiotbox

For the last few days, vestige has been getting a fair bit of publicity. The reason? My now infamous Idiotbox parody of Jakob Nielsen's Useit.com.

On July 23^rd, Mr. Nielsen posted an article that I felt cried out for parody. Thank goodness Mr. Nielsen has a sense of humour.

I'm not the only one who had a response, however. Curt wrote an interesting article for A List Apart, there was an in-depth discussion at Astounding Websites , and some harsh reactions at Dreamless [editor's note: Both Astounding and Dreamless are now defunct.]. Somebody also stated the obvious.

As far as my own infamy goes, I'd like to thank Jeffrey for posting about my parody not only on his site, but on K10K, and Skizz for bringing it to Jeffrey's attention [editor's note: Skizz has been MIA for quite some time.]. Oh yeah, and I want to thank Mr. Nielsen for being so understanding.

Added 08/09/00 - I am now apparently a "brother in arms" at a project for further parody of Mr. Nielsen. I found out because it showed up in my referal logs. If they want to link to me, they can go right ahead.
